I am deeply sorry about the sudden loss of your son. I’ve found that even when we love our children well, it’s difficult to accept not being able to show them that love once they are gone. To not be able to shout how much you love them, how they’ve changed you, to not be able to hug them, it’s gut-wrenching. I am always looking for ways to express my love to Sam. Sometimes I speak to him, but I find it so dissatisfying. Writing helps me.
